Introduction to Shooting Competitions
Design for the recreational shooter curious about the world of competitive shooting, this introductory class provides a safe and comprehensive overview of the sport. Led by experience competitors, you will learn the essential roles, range commands, and adequate require for participating in a match.
The curriculum covers critical skills such as drawing from the holster, efficient reloads, and engagement in multiple targets accurately and quickly. Will get your hands-on experience by running through a challenging beginner friendly stage to understand the timing scoring systems used in popular disciplines like USPSA and IDPA. This course gives you the knowledge and confidence needed to sign up for your first competition.
Required Equipment & Prerequisites

Prerequisite
A prior firearm training course such as a basic pistol course.

Firearm
Reliable semiautomatic pistol in a common defense caliber (9 mm, .40, .45).

Holster
High quality, strong side holster (IWB or OWB) that stays open after the firearm is drawn.

Ammunition
150 rounds of training ammunition.

Gear
At least 2 magazines, a magazine pouch, and a sturdy belt.

Protective Gear
Wrap around eye protection and hearing protection.

Clothing
Dress weather appropriate as well as closed-toed shoes.
